Do you sabotage yourself when good
things happen ... when you reach your
success comfort zone ~ in business,
career, love, losing weight, life itself?
This is more common than you might
think. We live by a template of what
we're used to, how we've learned to
live. When we reach a certain limit of expansion, rewards, or feeling good it
is possible that we may not tolerate
moving beyond that limit. We may shut down or sabotage ourselves, and stop our own progress. This is called the Upper Limit. To move past that limit is to move beyond our measured success comfort zone.
Some people may achieve things they want, achieve milestones, but then may feel a pushback. For example:
- waiting for the other shoe to drop
- getting involved in situations of conflict,
- feeling ill,
- making mistakes on the job,
- even having accidents.
If these type of things repeatedly occur when good things happen, you may be hitting your Upper Limit of your success comfort zone.
So what do you do?
As uncomfortable or as stuck as things may appear, there is a key to unlocking this for you.
(1) First ~ Conscious Awareness.
Look at your own personal pattern (or Template I call it) of what is holding you back. See if you can catch it each time it occurs, i.e. stop the lockdown in it's tracks and re-work it.
(2) Second ~ Re-wire or Re-pattern your Template.
Is your Template driving your business, career, relationship, or life itself, on automatic pilot, in unexpected or unwanted ways?
Are you the designated driver? By tweaking your Template, you can become the designated driver.
Using an Affirmation (some call it a mantra), which in coaching I customize for and with my clients, you can with repetition (verbally or written) absorb it into your psyche, until it replaces the old, unwanted pattern. Why not replace repeated unwanted outcomes for outcomes you desire.
