SENSORY MEMORY
Did you know you can use
your sensory memory to
eluct purposeful memories that can assist you when you need them?
Have you tried this yet?
Spiritual Self
The smell of roses helps me to connect with my spiritual self, my higher self, and my next right step. When I have roses around (rose water, rose soap, rose spray, or roses in a vase) the memory of my spiritual empowerment, my capabilities, my knowingness in my next right step becomes vivid and reassuring. It opens doors for me to move forward because I feel enlivened motivated, and loving, others feel this from me.
Belonging & Love
The smell and taste of my homemade chicken soup, makes me recall my grandmother who made chicken soup every week. I watched from her kitchen doorway, as no one was allowed in her kitchen when she was cooking. I learned how to make soups watching every ingredient she added to each type of soup she made. When cooking, smelling, tasting that chicken soup, I am rallied to a time of bonding, acceptance, belonging, and love. It empowers me to step up and forward to reach out and to embrace others. At such times the world feels to be my oyster.
Just as sensory memory in good smells and tastes can affect us in the positive, so can our sensory memory affect us in the negative. A smell or taste can send us back in memory to a time that was challenging and/or painful. What will you do with that memory? Will you recognize it and see if you can heal that sense of things locked away that comes out sideways? How can you reassure yourself that you are no longer helpless and can move forward regardless?
Are you in touch with your sensory memory ... yet?
And what it can do for you?
What do you recall with your senses that speak to you?
